Acquisition Pipeline

Acquisition pipeline for part-exchanges, private purchases and auctions

DriveGo brings all your vehicle acquisitions into one pipeline — part-exchanges from sales, private purchases, auction bids and lease returns — so you see margin and stock flow together in one system.

You are buying vehicles without knowing where they are in the process

A part-exchange from Monday's sale, a private purchase from Facebook Marketplace, three auction bids on Wednesday and a lease return arriving next week. How much capital is tied up? What is your expected margin? Which vehicles are you waiting for? Most dealers keep track of this in their heads — and miss opportunities. DriveGo's acquisition pipeline gives you the full picture.

What DriveGo does for your buying flow

4 acquisition types in one flow

Part-exchanges from sales, private purchases from consumers, auction bids and lease returns are all handled in the same pipeline with status tracking and margin calculation.

Part-exchange directly from the deal

When a customer wants to part-exchange their old vehicle, the acquisition is created directly from the open sales deal. The valuation is tied to the final sale so the margin is accurate.

Auction bid overview

See all your open bids at BCA, Manheim and other auctions in one place with bid amount, auction date and expected delivery cost. No missed auctions.

Private purchase recording

Private purchases are recorded with the seller's details, purchase price, preparation costs and a digitally signed purchase agreement. Everything archived digitally — no paperwork going missing.

Margin calculator from the start

Even before you decide to buy a vehicle, the system shows expected selling price (based on market data), preparation costs and expected margin. You know before you bid.

Automatic stock transfer

When an acquisition has been received and prepared, the vehicle is automatically transferred to your main sales stock with full history. No duplicate data entry.

Capital tied-up overview

See in real time how much capital is tied up in purchased vehicles not yet ready for sale. Essential for cash flow management and monthly board meetings.

"DriveGo gives us oversight of stock, workshop and customers all in one system. We no longer have to juggle three different programmes."

How it works

  1. 1

    Register the acquisition

Whether it is a part-exchange, a private purchase or an auction bid, the acquisition is created in DriveGo with type, source, purchase price and expected delivery date. Photos and documents are attached directly.

  2. 2

    Prepare margin expectation

The system pulls the vehicle's technical data via number plate lookup, suggests a market value based on comparable listings, and calculates the expected margin after estimated preparation costs.

  3. 3

    Track status through to arrival

From 'bid placed' to 'won' to 'received' — the system tracks where the vehicle is in the process. For auctions you are notified when a bid is accepted or declined.

  4. 4

    Preparation and stock transfer

When the vehicle arrives it is registered physically. Preparation costs are recorded per vehicle. When preparation is complete, the vehicle is transferred automatically to the main sales stock ready for sale.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between the acquisition pipeline and stock?
The acquisition pipeline handles vehicles you have bought (or are bidding on) but which are not yet ready to sell — typically because they are being prepared, in transit or awaiting paperwork. Stock is for vehicles that are ready to be shown and sold. Vehicles move automatically from the acquisition pipeline to sales stock when they are ready, giving you a clear separation between 'inbound' and 'ready for sale'.
How are part-exchanges handled?
Part-exchanges are created directly from an open sales deal. When the customer wants to exchange their old vehicle, it is noted on the deal with registration details, condition and valuation. The value is automatically deducted from the new vehicle's price, and the part-exchange lands in the acquisition pipeline as an open item awaiting physical receipt and preparation.
Does the system integrate with vehicle auctions?
DriveGo supports manual registration of bids at auctions — you enter which auction, what bid and what date yourself. We do not have a live-feed integration with specific auction platforms, but this is on the roadmap. Many of our customers prefer manual control over their auction bids in any case.
Can I attach documents to a private purchase?
Yes. All acquisitions support document attachment — purchase agreement, V5C, digital signature, photos, and any service history. Documents are saved against the vehicle record and follow automatically when the vehicle is transferred from acquisition to sales stock.
How is expected margin calculated?
DriveGo calculates expected margin by combining purchase price, expected preparation costs (based on previous preparations of similar vehicles) and an estimated selling price. The estimated selling price is based on current listings of comparable vehicles. The system shows optimistic, realistic and conservative margin scenarios.
Can I see how much capital is tied up?
Yes. The acquisition pipeline has a 'capital tied up' view that totals the purchase price of all vehicles in the pipeline plus expected preparation costs. This gives you real-time insight into how much cash is locked in vehicles not yet sold — essential for cash flow planning.
